Interlocking dreadlocks is a method that may be fast, but does not allow hair to actually lock up. Hair that has been interlocked becomes weaker over time, and it is expensive to fix. Friends don't let friends interlock!

Yes, I do my own maintenance, and yes, my arms get tired. Proper dreadlock creation methods lead to happy, healthy dreadlocks that mature faster and require less maintenance overall. Please make sure any artist you're considering has been professionally trained, as there are zero training requirements to work as a loctician - that means it's up to you to make sure you choose an artist who wasn't taught some backyard method by their neighbor, and who's going to have you come in every two weeks to charge you more money for locs that aren't lock up properly, and telling you that it's all a part of the normal process.

D had been wearing synthethic extensions installed by a friend for over a year and her already fine and fragile hair. There was a lot of damage. Even so, we were able to create a full head of natural locs, taking larger sections to accommodate for her fine hair, and crating human hair extensions to instantly add the length that she loves.

S came in wanting to lock up her shoulder-length mohawk, as well as add a bit of length with human hair extensions. The color blend is perfect and the seamless extensions gave her the length she didn't want to wait for.

When you cut dreads - whether natural hair or extension - you can easily see if your care routine is truly residue free. The second set of my own extensions were beautifully clean inside after wearing them for 2.5 years.

M came to me for maintenance on her half-head of locs. After a few repairs and great stories, she was feeling like a whole new lady!

D came back in 2 months after her major dreadlock overhaul, and they were doing great. We tightened up a few areas that needed it, but I was impressed that even the couple areas I was initially concerned about were doing very well .

Tamara came in for help with her locs that she'd recently had made elsewhere. They weren't locking up and had many issues. Over 3 sessions, I repaired the existing "locs" and added human-hair extensions. She had tiny sections and it took 16 hours - spread over 3 visits - to get her hair looking and feeling even better than she'd hoped it would the first time around.
