Clarity Test: Genuine Azurite should have a consistent, deep saturation. If the stone appears to have surface-level dye that doesn't reach the interior of cracks, it may be faked.
Structure & Appearance: Authentic Namibian Azurite often features small, irregular inclusions of green Malachite. Perfectly uniform, "plastic-looking" blue is a red flag.
Authenticity: Azurite is a copper-based mineral and should feel cool and heavy in the hand. Reconstituted or resin-based fakes will feel light and warm up quickly to your body heat.
